Each handbag, briefcase, laptop and laptop bag is considered one piece of luggage. If you have a handbag and a laptop, you could put your laptop into your handbag or check one of these pieces as hold luggage. For more information, please see EU safety regulations for hand luggage.
Baby food, medicine for use during the journey and cooling elements for transporting medicine, have to be presented separately at the hand luggage control. These items do not need to be carried in a transparent plastic bag and there is no limit on the amount.
Tip: Keep your travel and insurance papers, medications, passport and other valuables in your hand luggage %u2013 never in your hold luggage.
There is no free baggage allowance on Transavia flights. It is recommended to purchase a checked baggage allowance online at the Transavia website. Rates are 7 EUR for a 15kg bag, or 10 EUR for a 20kg bag. A total of 50kg is allowed per person.

The conditions that hold luggage has to meet are as follows:
You may take up to 5 pieces of hold luggage per person
The total weight of all of your hold luggage may not exceed 50 kilograms per person
The total weight of one piece of luggage may not exceed 32 kilograms
Luggage that exceeds this weight limit shall not be accepted for transport
Reduced rates for booking online/through call centre
Booking your hold luggage is easy to do when you book your flight, or later by going to My transavia.com (on website), by contacting our call centre or by doing so when you get to the airport. If you book your luggage online or by contacting our call centre, we offer you a reduced rate. You are free; of course, to wait until you get to the airport and pay for your hold luggage there, but please note that other conditions will apply and that you will then pay the airport rate. We advise you to read over the rates carefully to avoid misunderstandings and to make your journey as pleasant as possible.
Online/call centre rates for booking hold luggage
1 piece of luggage up to 15 kilograms: 7 EUR/single journey
1 piece of luggage up to 20 kilograms: 10 EUR/single journey
If your luggage actually weighs less that this when you get to the airport, you will not receive a refund for the difference.
Passengers listed in the same booking can add up the total weight of the luggage they will be booking and divide it up amongst themselves. Booking additional weight can be done until you check in and no later than 2 hours before departure.
Rates charged for hold luggage at the airport
At the airport, you can purchase the transport of a standard piece of luggage weighing up to 15 kilograms.
For babies up to the age of 23 months, you may take a maximum of 1 piece of luggage weighing up to 10 kilograms including a buggy or Maxi Cosi.
In the case of departures from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Rotterdam The Hague Airport, luggage items may not weigh more than 32 kg per item, and no more than 23 kg when departing from Kopenhagen Airport. When departing from other airports, you may get in touch with the airport concerned.

Overweight luggage can be purchased ahead of time (online or call centre) in 3kg increments. Every 3kg will cost you 20 EUR.
Bringing an additional bag will cost an extra 10 EUR, in addition to purchasing the weight allowance.
Again, it is recommended to plan ahead and purchase online, as the airport fees will be higher.

If the weight of your hold luggage exceeds the number of kilograms for which you previously paid, you will have to pay for the extra weight at the airport rate.

If you want to travel with more than one piece of luggage, you can pay an additional amount for any additional piece(s). Each person may book up to five pieces of luggage. The right to transport an extra piece of luggage does not increase the weight allowance per person. The weight allowance can be increased only by purchasing extra weight. Extra piece of luggage (0 kilograms) is charged EUR 10.

For babies up to 23 months old you may take 1 piece of hold luggage (suitcase or buggy or Maxi Cosi) weighing up to 10 kg. If you choose to take along a buggy with a collapsible umbrella or a Maxi Cosi, you can take such an item with you to the gate if it weighs no more than 5-7 kg. If you have purchased a separate seat (at the adult fare) for the baby, the standard hold luggage regulations apply.
Transavia.com transports only dogs and cats that are at least 3 months old. Your dog or cat may be taken with you in the cargo hold (below the cabin) in a kennel, in accordance with the applicable transport regulations, or in the cabin in a special transport bag or cabin-kennel. The transport of your pet takes place at your own risk.
If the instrument complies with the hand luggage regulations, you are allowed to take it with you into the cabin. Only musical instruments that meet the requirements with regard to measurements for hand luggage (55 x 35 x 25 cm) and are not heavier than 10 kilograms can be transported in the cabin. Please note: we accept only one piece of hand luggage per passenger.
If transported in the cargo hold; our standard hold luggage rate applies to musical instruments
If you pack your musical instrument as well as possible and deliver it at the check-in counter, it could also be treated as non-standard luggage. Transport takes place at your own risk. It is not possible to reserve an additional seat for the transport of a musical instrument.
Transavia.com makes it easy for you to book your sporting equipment online or by contacting the call centre. Due to the limited space for special luggage aboard the aircraft, we advise you to book this at the same time that you book your flight. You can also have this done at My transavia.com or the call centre no later than 2 hours before departure (unless stated otherwise). If you wait until you get to the airport to report your special luggage, it will be accepted only if there is space for it. Once you have checked in online, booking special luggage is no longer permitted.
