Megabus USA Oversize/Overweight Baggage Fees 2018 ↑ Back to Top

There are no official excess/oversize baggage policies for Megabus, and luggage is usually taken on a space-available basis. As the buses are double-deckers, the cargo hold is on the back of the bus, and usually has a more difficult access than a typical coach bus. This limits the size and weight of oversize bags that can be carried, plus there are usually more passengers on the bus, each with their own luggage.

For passengers that are planning to bring a second piece of luggage, it is recommended to purchase an additional seat on the bus to reserve the space for the luggage. If you arrive without having bought a second seat, you will be required to pay the full walk-up fare for a second seat in order to take a second bag.
