LATAM allows passengers to bring 2 items on-board the aircraft: one carry-on item, and one personal item.

The maximum weight for your carry-on baggage is 8 kilos (17 lb) in Economy and 16 (35 lb) kilos in Premium Economy or Premium Business. If you’re flying in Economy on a route with it’s origin and/or destination in Brazil, the maximum weight is 10 kilos.

The maximum dimensions are 21 in (55 cm) x 13 in (35 cm) x 9 in (25 cm) (height, width and depth), including the pockets, wheels and handle.

You can put one personal item under the seat in front of you (except in emergency exit rows seats and front rows), such as:

A purse.
A laptop bag.
A diaper bag.

Maximum personal item dimensions are 18 in (45 cm) x 14 in (35 cm) x 8 in (20 cm) (length, height and width).

All LATAM checked bags are limited in size and weight to the following:

LATAM Checked Bag Size Limit Linear dimension 158 cm. (width + height + length) or 62 inches
LATAM Checked Bag Weight Limit of 23kg/50lbs

LATAM Checked Baggage Limits for Flights within Chile, Peru, Brazil, Colombia or Ecuador
Promo and Light fares do not include any free checked baggage within your flight, so you must select and pay for your checked bags when purchasing your flight. It is significantly cheaper to purchase your bags ahead of time (minimum 3 hours before your flight) rather than at the airport.

Checked Baggage Fees on LATAM Flights to/from Chile
First piece (up to 3 hours before your flight) - $9.990 CLP
Second piece (up to 3 hours before your flight) - $19.990 CLP
First piece (less than 3 hours before your flight) - $20.000 CLP
Second piece (less than 3 hours before your flight) - $25.000 CLP
Third to tenth piece - $50.000 CLP

NOTE: On flights to Easter Island, you may take 2 pieces of luggage weighing up to 23 kilos each in the Economy Cabin and 3 pieces of luggage weighing up to 23 kilos each in the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabins at no cost. If you’d like to carry an additional bag, the cost will be CLP$40,000.

Checked Baggage on LATAM Flights Within Argentina
One bag of 23kg/50lbs is allowed free of charge on LATAM flights within Argentina

Note: due to local legislation, on flights to or from Argentina, you can take up to 32 kg per item of luggage, and you must pay for any excess weight above the maximum allowance permitted on your route. The same rule applies for connecting flights with Air Canada, British Airways, Iberia and Qantas. We recommend that before you travel, you check the limit of each company to find out how much you will be charged for excess baggage.

Checked Baggage on LATAM Flights Between Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay
Economy Passengers are allowed 1 bag of 23kg/50lbs free of charge. Premium Business and Premium Economy passengers are allowed 3 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge.

LATAM Checked Baggage Allowance on Flights between South America and North America (the United States, Canada and Mexico)
Economy Cabin: 2 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge
Premium Business/Premium Economy: 3 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge

LATAM Checked Baggage Allowance on Flights between South America and Europe, Africa or Oceania
Economy Cabin: 2 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge (except on the direct route between Madrid and Santiago)
Premium Business/Premium Economy: 3 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge

If your trip includes a transatlantic flight on a direct route between Madrid and Santiago, when travelling in the Economy cabin, you can take one bag weighing 23 kg

LATAM Checked Baggage Allowance on Flights between South America and the Caribbean (Aruba, Cuba and the Dominican Republic)
Economy Cabin: 1 bag of 23kg/50lbs, free of charge
Premium Business/Premium Economy: 3 bags of 23kg/50lbs each, free of charge
