Only one carry-on bag per person is allowed.

Fragile or perishable articles, including medication or medical devices, money, jewellery, silverware, electronics, laptop computers, personal audio/video devices, negotiable documents, securities, samples of business documents or other valuables must be placed in carry on baggage, as these items will not be accepted as checked baggage.

Lighters must be included in the clear re-sealable bag (due to their liquid content, these items fall under the rules of liquids, gels and aerosols) in order to pass the security screening checkpoint (after which time the lighter must be removed from the bag and carried on your person). Lighters cannot be placed in checked baggage on any flight, for safety reasons. Matches must always be carried on your person. Electronic cigarettes are allowed but must remain stowed unused in your carry-on baggage.

Diaper bag accepted free of charge when travelling with baby.

Please note that in addition to our carry-on baggage allowance, the following items are permitted onboard:

Passengers may only carry such items as syringes, Epi-Pen and hypodermic needles if for personal medical use during the flight, with the needle's guard in place, and when accompanied by labelled medication and/or a Doctor's certificate.

CanJet Checked Baggage Fees 2022 - Checked Bag Weight & Size Limits

For each passenger, CanJet allows up to two (2) checked pieces as long as the overall weight does not exceed 20 kg (44 lb). The overall measurement of each checked-in piece (length+width+height) must be less than 62 in (158 cm) and weigh less than 70 lb (32 kg) (This is for safe working conditions for all baggage agents).

Extra kilograms will be charged as excess baggage.

Canjet Select: When purchased in advance of departure date, an additional 10 kg (22 lb) of checked weight will be permitted.

Child and Baby Equipment
Infants travelling on an adult's lap do not have a baggage allowance; however, some baby and child equipment (1 stroller, 1 car seat) is accepted free of charge. Any additional item (such as a playpen, booster seat, additional car seats, etc.) exceeding your free checked baggage allowance will be subject to excess baggage charges.

Playpen as checked baggage
Cost: If the combined weight of the playpen and your baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance, excess baggage charges in effect will apply.

Musical Equipment
Cost: Free, unless it exceeds the free allowance weight and dimensions. Then $15.00 CAD per kilogram each way for flights to/from South destinations.

Wheelchairs, walkers, motorized scooters and mobility equipment.
Please note CanJet will only accept dry and gel cell batteries. Wet cell batteries are not accepted for transportation due to safety reasons.

Car seat - child or infant
Cost: Free
Weight: Any regular weight.
Size: Any regular size.
If you choose to purchase a seat for the use of a child restraint device (car seat) for your infant or child who is less than forty (40) lb, the infant/child must be restrained in the approved child restraint device which meets safety standards set by the CMVSS and FMVSS. The child must remain properly secured in the seat at all times when the aircraft seat belt sign is illuminated during the journey. Child restraint devices cannot be used in an exit row or in a seat that would impede access to an aisle or to emergency/safety equipment. Snugglies and booster seats are not permitted to be used as restraining devices on board CanJet.

There are safety restrictions and criteria that a CRS must meet in order to be approved for travel inside the aircraft cabin. Please note the following

Canadian Manufactured Devices (CMD)
Must indicate compliance with either CMVSS 213 or 213.1; and
Indicate the date of manufacture as being after January 1, 1981.

American Manufactured Devices (AMD)
Made between January 1, 1981 - February 1985; and
Bear Label "This child restraint system conforms to all applicable FMVSS".

OR

Made on or after February 26, 1985;
Bear Label "This child restraint system conforms to all applicable FMVSS"; and
Bear Label "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft".

Additional CRS Restrictions
Car seats (no wider than 15.5 in or 40 cm) may be used on CanJet Airlines' flights.
Forward facing - restricted to an occupant between 20 and 40 lb.
A person over the age of two may occupy an approved CRS provided the weight/height capacities are not exceeded.
Instructions for the proper use of the device and its weight and height capacities must also be prominently displayed on the device. The weight and height of the person using the child restraint system must be within the system's stated range.

CARES™ device is a Child Restraint System that is currently permitted onboard.
Conditions of Use:

The CARESTM device and the child using the CARESTM device shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will attend to the safety of the child during flight.
This device is designed specifically for aviation use for children age 1 to 4 weighing between 22 and 44 lb (10-20 kg) and whose height is 100 cm (40 in) or less.
The device shall be used within the limitations specified by the manufacturer found on the CARESTM device; and
The CARESTM device shall bear a legible label indicating the applicable design and approval standards.

Sporting Equipment
When properly packaged, CanJet Airlines will accept one of the sports items as a free checked baggage allowance piece if it fits within the weight and dimension limitations. Fees will be applied to certain items, please see below for details.
