Carry-On Summary

CanJet allows 1 carry-on bag per person, with maximum dimensions of 23 x 40 x 51cm (9 x 16 x 20in). The weight of this bag is limited to 10kg (22lbs).

If flying to/from the US, the weight limit is reduced to a maximum of only 5kg (11 lbs), so be sure to pack light.

Also allowed is what CanJet calls a "Personal Item", such as a laptop, purse, or camera, which can be separate from your standard piece of carry-on luggage.

Checked Baggage Summary

The standard checked baggage allowance on CanJet flights is 20kg (44 lb), which applies for most flights between Canada and the United States or Southern destinations.

Some exceptions may apply, often on flights between Toronto and Montego Bay, Jamaica, or for cruise passengers, where the baggage allowance may be slightly increased, up to 23kg or 25kg.

There is also the option of purchasing excess baggage by flying as a CanJet Select passenger, which provides an extra 10 kg (22lb) or checked baggage allowance.

For all checked bags, maximum dimensiosn may not exceed 62 in (158cm), calculated as the total of length + width + height.

Excess/Oversize/Overweight Summary

Excess/oversize baggage is charged at a rate of $15 CAD per kilogram. There is a restriction that no single item can weigh more than 32kg (70lbs), so you may need to pack into 2 separate suitcases.

You can pay for your oversize baggage at the check-in counter. However, if you plan on travelling with extra weight, it may be useful to upgrade to CanJet Select prior to your departure, which allows for an additional 10kg to your standard allowance.
