Baggage Allowance and Excess Baggage Charges for Connecting Flights
Beginning April 1, 2011, Air China will implement new rules for baggage allowances for passengers who connect on flights on other airlines.

Flights solely operated by Air China will continue to follow Air China's rules for baggage allowances. As of April 1, 2011, connecting flights operated by Air China in cooperation with foreign airlines will follow the revised policy for free baggage allowances and excess baggage charges. Please pay attention to the revised policy on baggage allowances when purchasing a ticket or making a change to a flight.

Passengers with checked baggage please arrive at the airport in advance of your scheduled flight to allow ample time for check-in and security inspection procedures. This will help avoid any delay in boarding.

For more information, please call the Air China hotline at 4008-100-999 or inquire at our Air China Local Office.

Free baggage allowance for the combined transport service
The free baggage allowance requirements for combined transport service depend on the criteria of the most significant carrier (MSC) of the trip. Generally, MSC is the carrier for the geographically farthest or most significant segment of your trip.

If Air China is the MSC of your trip, Air China's criteria for free checked baggage allowance on domestic, international or regional routes apply. If another carrier is the MSC of your trip, then the free checked baggage allowance rules of this carrier apply to this segment.

Note: If the flight carried by the MSC is a code-shared flight, the operating carrier's baggage rules apply; on routes to/from the United States, the marketing carrier's baggage rules apply.
