Passengers travelling in Economy Class or on oneclass flights, flights within Finland or leisure flights: one piece only with a maximum weight of 8 kg (17.5 lb), consisting of one bag with maximum external dimensions of 56x45x25 cm (22x18x10 in.).
Children with a reserved seat are allowed the same amount of carry-on baggage as an adult flying in the same travel class.
Infants under two years of age without a reserved seat do not have their own carry-on baggage allowance – the carry-on baggage of infants is considered part of their parent or guardian's allowance.
In addition to the carry-on baggage listed above, passengers travelling in any class may take on board a small handbag, a small camera or binoculars, baby food, reading material, an overcoat, and a necessary mobility aid (such as a cane or elbow crutches).
For security reasons, sharp objects – such as knives, scissors, corkscrews, knitting needles, tweezers and skates – must not be packed in your carry-on baggage.

Because of local regulations, you cannot take alcohol in your carry-on baggage when departing from Beijing or Shanghai airport – you will not be permitted to take alcohol through security control at these airports. You can, however, purchase alcoholic beverages at the duty-free shops in these airports and take them on board in your carry-on baggage. These restrictions also apply to connecting flights within China.

Overweight and Excess baggage will be charged at the airport, according to the table provided by Finnair. The price is dependent on the size and weight of the bag, as well as the length of your flight.

The following table contains excess-baggage and special-baggage fees for Finnair flights. Each fee is for flights in one direction only.
Fees are in Euros, EUR (or the equivalent local currency where the excess fee is collected). When departing from Canada, the fees quoted are collected in CAD. When departing from USA, the fees quoted are collected in USD.
You can pay excess-baggage fees at the airport when you depart or in advance on our website or via a travel agency. If your pay the fee online, it will be up to 30% lower than if you pay it at the airport.
