Excess/Oversize/Overweight Summary

Excess Baggage fees are charged on a per kilogram basis, with separate rates for different "zones". These are depending on the origin and destination of the flight, with higher fees charged for longer flights.

The per kilogram fee ranges from 10-40 EUR per kilogram, so it is advisable to pack light when flying with Austrian Airlines.

For flights where a "piece concept" applies, overweight and excess baggage fees are usually 50EUR/$70 per bag.
