Kiteboards can be on Air France as checked baggage. Prior approval from Air France customer service department is required. You must submit your request at least 48 hours before your flight's departure.
Depending on the size of the board and your travel dates, the following rules apply. [AMZ asins='B01BN1W5G6,B01465RK8E,B00NIYJF6U,B003EBV7XG']
If your board is less than 300 cm / 118 inches in length and under 23 kg / 50 lb in weight, it is considered a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Light and Basic fare tickets) if it is the only baggage that you want to check in (or one out of the 2 baggages allowed for the Business and La Première cabins.)
Want to transport more baggage items? Does your equipment exceed the number, size or weight allowance for your ticket? You can purchase a Baggage Option online or pay a fee for this option at the airport. It is cheaper to pay for it online.
Exceptions for flights to and from the United States, Canada or Mexico, or for corresponding flights via one of these countries
If the board is between 107 to 300 cm / 42 to 118 inches in length and under 23 kg / 50 lb in weight, its transport is not included in your ticket price. At the airport, you must pay an extra fee that varies based on the origin/destination of your trip.
- Zone 2: €65 (or 75 USD on flights departing from a country outside the European zone)
- Zone 4: €125 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (150 USD departing from all other countries)
- Zone 5: €100 on flights departing from a country within the European zone (100 USD departing from all other countries)

Baggage items exceeding 32 kg / 70 lb in weight or 300 cm / 118 in in length cannot be transported in the hold.
