Sunwing will accept Ski equipment, whether snow or water skis. All items must be properly packaged / prepared for check-in and carriage in the cargo hold of the aircraft and are subject to certain limitations
Transportation of Skis on Sunwing is no longer free, and in 2024 you will now be charged a $75 fee (each way) to fly with your ski bag. Up until December 5th 2023, this fee was only $25. [AMZ asins='B083176696,B074F945NM,B08512DLZK,B07X3MMRLX']
A set of snow skis means one pair of skis, poles and boots. For water skis it's a pair or a single slalom. These sets are considered as one piece of checked baggage and no other item(s) can be carried in the package. The skis and poles must be packaged in a rigid and/or hard case shell container specifically designed for carriage in the baggage hold of the aircraft.
If otherwise packaged, the item(s) may not be accepted. The item(s) will only be accepted with a limited release form to be signed at check-in, releasing Sunwing of any liability in case of damage.
Passengers are allowed to carry only one piece of sporting equipment per passenger. Passengers are not permitted to include personal items such as clothing or other non-related items in the sport equipment container.
