Malev Carry On 2012 - Cabin Bag Size & Weight Limit

The overall weight, quantity and dimensions of carry-on baggage may not exceed the following values:

Economy Class: 1 piece, 55x40x20 cm, 10 kg
Business Class: 2 pieces, 55x40x20 cm and 45x35x20 cm, 10kg 8kg [AMZ asins='B00LB7REFK,B082K8ZNQ1,B07ZWLQF9T,B00NW62PCA']

Should the weight or quantity of carry-on luggage exceed the allowed amounts, the baggage representing the excess weight or quantity shall be checked in. If this results in excess weight, excess baggage charges shall apply.

Our passengers are kindly informed that on certain types of aircraft -due to size limitations- it is not possible to take carry-on baggage on board. On such flights, carry-on baggage is collected before boarding and returned immediately upon exiting the aircraft. In such cases please keep your values (cash, official documents, jewellery, valuabel electronic devices etc) in your posession.

On flights within Europe and between Europe and the Middle East:

Economy Class: 23 kg
Business Class: 30 kg
For infants: 10 kg

For flights listed in the above table, our Platinum, Gold and Silver members of the Duna Club may check in an additional 25, 15 and 10 kg of excess baggage, respectively.

We would like to inform our passengers that in case of flights operated by code-share partners, the free baggage allowance and the excess baggage charges might be changed (information about the operating carrier can be found during the online booking process, at the ticket office or at the Malev Service Center).

Malev Overweight Baggage Fee 2012 - Extra Bag Fee - Oversize Baggage

If the weight of checked-in baggage exceeds the allowed maximum, excess baggage charges apply:

On flights within Europe
HUF 2,500/kg in case of Budapest departure or EUR 10/kg in case of other airports

On flights between Europe and the Middle East
HUF 3,800/kg in case of Budapest departure or EUR 15/kg in case of other airports

Excess baggage charges may be paid in cash or with a credit card at the Malév ticketing offices of terminals 2A and 2B.

We would like to inform our passengers that the weight of one checked baggage cannot exceed 32 kgs, and that one passenger is allowed to check maximum 50 kgs (55 kgs in case of Platinum card holders travelling on Business class).

Special Baggage

On flights within Europe and between Europe and the Middle East the following special baggage rules apply:

Carry-on requiring extra seat(s)
Subject to the purchase of a separate ticket.

Live Animals
Live animals carried in the cargo bay or onboard are treated as excess weight in wich case the relevant charges apply. The actual charge to be paid is determined considering the combined weight of the animal, its food and the carriage device. In case of England and Ireland animals can only be carried as cargo because animal health regulations.
The above listed rules do not apply to search and rescue- and other types of guide dogs.

Sporting-guns, ammunition (please inform us when booking)
Up to 15 kg: EUR 30 or HUF 7,500 per item
16 to 30 kg: EUR 60 or HUF 15,000 per item
Above 30 kg: EUR 90 or HUF 22,500 per item

Antlers and trophies
Up to 15 kg: EUR 30 or HUF 7,500 per item
16 to 30 kg: EUR 60 or HUF 15,000 per item
Above 30 kg: EUR 90 or HUF 22,500 per item

Sports equipment (e.g. golf, ski, surf, snowboard, pole vault, bicycle etc.)
Up to 15 kg: EUR 30 or HUF 7,500 per item
16 to 30 kg: EUR 60 or HUF 15,000 per item
Above 30 kg: EUR 90 or HUF 22,500 per item

Musical equipment
Up to 15 kg: EUR 30 or HUF 7,500 per item
16 to 30 kg: EUR 60 or HUF 15,000 per item
Above 30 kg: EUR 90 or HUF 22,500 per item

Scuba diving equipment in regular-sized baggage
Free of charge, provided it does not exceed the allowed quantity or weight. Otherwise, excess baggage charges apply.

Baby seats, strollers
Free of charge, provided it does not exceed the allowed quantity or weight. Otherwise, excess baggage charges apply.
