AHA! Airlines will accept fishing equipmnet as checked baggage, but all standard checked baggage fees ($30 first bag, $50 2nd bag, $100 extra bag) will apply.

AHA! Airlines defines fishing equipment as a tackle box and rod case.
Fishing gear larger than 80 inches (Maximum Outside Linear Dimensions or 203 cm) and/or weighing more than 70 pounds (32 kilograms) will not be accepted.
