Following the merger with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines now accepts bicycles as part of standard checked luggage on all flights, both domestic and international. Customers will only pay the standard checked baggage fee, with no additional charges for oversized, overweight, or special bicycle handling fees. This new policy is effective January 8, 2025.

Bicycle Equipment Acceptance
- Weight Limit: Bicycles up to 70 pounds (32 kg) are accepted as part of the standard checked luggage allowance.
- Size Limit: Bicycles up to 115 linear inches (292 cm) are accepted.
- Accepted Containers: Hard-sided cases, soft-sided cases, or cardboard boxes.
For items over 70 pounds (32 kg), overweight baggage fees will apply.

Fees for Bicycles Over 70 Pounds
- Neighbor Island Flights: Items weighing 71-100 pounds (32-45 kg) incur an additional $70 fee.
- North America Flights: Items weighing 71-100 pounds (32-45 kg) incur an additional $200 fee.
- International Flights: Normal international excess weight charges apply. Items over 70 pounds are not accepted on flights to/from French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Australia, or New Zealand.

Preparing Your Bicycle for Travel
To ensure the safe transport of your bicycle:
1. Use a case designed for air travel, such as a hard-sided case or bicycle box.
2. Fix handlebars sideways or protect them with plastic foam or similar material.
3. Remove pedals and accessories or wrap them securely in protective materials.
4. Ensure all parts and accessories are adequately packed.
Hawaiian Airlines does not provide packing materials, so plan ahead.

Required Paperwork
Before arriving at the airport, please complete the Hawaiian Airlines Bicycle Liability Release Form. Present this form when checking in your bicycle with an airport agent.

Additional Notes
1. In the unlikely event that your bicycle cannot be accommodated on your flight due to space limitations, it will be loaded onto the next available flight. You can claim your bicycle at baggage claim upon its arrival. Hawaiian Airlines does not provide ground transportation for bicycles.
2. Properly packed bicycles that exceed the baggage allowance for international flights will be subject to additional fees.
