Allegiant Air does not specify specific windsurfing equipment rules in their checked baggage policies, although their rules for oversize and overweight bags make it difficult to fit windsurfing equipment within them.
Sporting equipment is considered as standard checked baggage, and all applicable checked baggage fees apply. If exceeding the 80 inch, 40 lbs size and weight limits, additional fees will apply. [AMZ asins='B07WSRXMS8,3903038180,3937323228,B00JE3E028']
Windsurfing equipment, unless flying with just a quiver bag with a few sails, will always exceed the 80 inch size limit, and you will be charged a $75 oversize fee. However, this allows us only a 115 linear inch limit (length + width + height), which is exceeded by anything larger than a 70-ish liter waveboard. Feel free to try your luck with windsurf equipment, but be wary that it may be refused for travel by Allegiant Air.
If exceeding Allegiant's 50 lbs weight limit with your Windsurf bag, you will be charged a $50 overweight fee as long as the bag is below 70 lbs / 32 kg. Bags weighing between 70-100 lbs (32-45 kg) will be charged an additional $75 fee, bringing the total fee to about $200, with no guarantee it will be accepted. We recommend picking another airline, such as Alaska Airlines or Southwest, if flying with windsurfing equipment.
