Kitesurfing equipment can be accepted on SWISS Airlines within your regular free baggage allowance, in place of one suitcase. If exceeding your free baggage allowance, a "Normal" sports equipment fee will be charged.

The fee for Large sports equipment on SWISS Airlines, meaning up to 315 cm long and weighing up to 32 kg / 70 lbs, is quite expensive:

Register Your Kitesurfing Equipment with SWISS Airlines
Be sure to register your kitesurf gear as early as possible, as space is limited on the airplane. To register your sports equipment, you can call the SWISS Airlines service center with your booking reservation information: +1 833 626 0737
You MUST register your kite gear before your flight - you can do so until up to 24 hours before departure. It is no longer possible to register your sports equipment with less than 24 hours to go before departure.
