Sunwing will no longer accept golf clubs free of charge in addition to your checked baggage allowance - in 2024, Sunwing now charges a $75 fee (one-way) for flying with your golf clubs. This higher fee is in effect on all Sunwing bookings as of December 5th 2023, with a golf bag previously costing only $25.
"Golf clubs" refers to a regular sized golf bag containing up to 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of golf shoes. The bag must be properly packaged for storage in the cargo hold, weighing up to a maximum of 23kg. If the weight of your golf bag exceeds 23 kg, overweight baggage fees apply. Passengers are required to show their receipt as proof of payment for the return sector if round-trip charges have been applied at the outbound Canadian airport.
Passengers are allowed to carry only one piece of sporting equipment per passenger.
Passengers are not permitted to include personal items such as clothing or other non-related items in the sport equipment container (e.g. extra clothes in a golf bag).
We recommend protecting your golf clubs with a Club Glove Stiff Arm Travel Club Protector or a BagBoy Backbone Travel Cover for extra protection during handling and avoid your clubs from getting bent or crushed while in transit.
