Ryanair accepts golf bags as checked baggage. Golf equipment may be carried in the hold of the aircraft in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance up to a limit of 20 kilos per item upon payment of a fee per item, depending on its size.
For 2023, the cheaper price for bringing golf equipment is only available when adding it to your reservation at the time of the original booking - when adding a piece of sports equipment to an existing reservation via the website, you will already be charged the higher "at airport" price. Ryanair Golf Fee 2023
€30 / £30 (online at time of booking)
€40 / £40 (online after initial booking, via call centre, or at airport)
Fee charged per Item/ Per one way flight. Maximum weight of 20kg per item
Any sporting and musical item weighing over the 20 kilos allowance will be charged for the excess at the applicable excess baggage rate per kilo.
We recommend protecting your golf clubs with a BagBoy Backbone Travel Support Rod or a CaddyDaddy North Pole Golf Club Protector for extra protection during handling and avoid your clubs from getting bent or crushed.
