KLM accepts fishing equipment as checked baggage, in place of one of a standard suitcase, whether included in your free checked baggage or as an extra piece of baggage that you bought online. Standard checked baggage fees by apply.
A set of fishing equipment of max. 300 cm (118 inch) may weigh max. 23 kg (50,5 lbs) in Economy Class and max. 32 kg (70,5 lbs) in Business Class and may consist of rods, a reel, a landing net, a pair of fishing boots and a fishing tackle box. These must be packed together in 1 package. [AMZ asins='B000E3E22A,B008BR23FY,B00YEH5PQO,B00SXZMQTM']
You can bring a set of fishing equipment as check-in baggage, or instead of extra check-in baggage bought in advance. You do not need to reserve ahead of time for transportation of fishing equipment.
We recommend packing your fishing rods into a hard-shell case such as the Plano Airliner Telescoping Rod Case for maximum protection during travel.
