Fishing Equipment is defined as a fishing tackle box and fishing rod, so long as the rod is encased in a cylindrical fishing rod container suitable to Eastern Airlines for withstanding normal Checked Baggage handling without sustaining damage to the rod.
Fishing Equipment may be checked in substitution of one piece of the free Checked Baggage allowance for each Passenger at no charge on a one-item-for-one-bag basis. [AMZ asins='B000E3E22A,B008BR23FY,B00YEH5PQO,B00SXZMQTM']
Fishing Equipment must not exceed the Maximum Weight (32 kg / 70 lbs) and Dimensions (80 inches / 203 cm linear). Fees may be assessed based on the fare purchased,
weight, dimensions, and number of Checked Bags if it is in addition to your free checked baggage allowance.
Fishing Equipment must be securely packed in a travel case specifically designed for that piece of equipment. We recommend a hard-shell rod case such as the Plano Airliner Telescoping Rod Case.
