A bicycle is accepted on FlySwoop flights as checked baggage, with all applicable oversize ($105-$115) and overweight ($105-$115) fees being applied. As most adult bikes, even when packed, exceed the size limit of 62 linear inches (157 cm), you will likely be charged the oversize fee. The overweight fee will apply if exceeding 23 kg / 50 lbs in weight.
In addition, the regular checked baggage fee will apply for bringing a bicycle, as if it it were a piece of regular checked luggage. [AMZ asins='B00JEILGMK,B00FRG7Q7W,B018FF6EV0,B00FNSS6QY']
A bicycle must be packed flat in a bicycle bag or box. The tires must be partially deflated, the pedals removed, and handlebars turned to line up with the wheels and frame. A set consists of a bicycle and a helmet. A maximum of one bicycle is allowed per traveller.
If flying with a bicycle, we recommend flying with your bike on Westjet as they will be more accomodating to flying with a bike, charging a simple $50 Bicycle Handling Fee.
