Iberia Airlines Surfboard Fees

Iberia Airlines accepts surfboards as a piece of sporting equipment. Iberia accepts surfboards up to a maximum length of 3.5 meters, meaning that you can even take a longboard with you on your flight. Please keep in mind that some smaller airplanes may not be able to fit a longboard into the cargo compartment, so that may be a limiting factor when flying on short-haul routes to smaller airports.

You'll have to pay a "Sports Equipment" fee for your surfboard on short-haul and medium-haul flights. On long-haul flights, your surfboard can fly as a regular piece of luggage, and may be included in place of a regular suitcase as part of your free checked baggage allowance. If your surfboard bag is in addition to your standard free checked baggage (as an extra bag, for example), you will have to pay the regular excess baggage fee for your flight, as if it were an extra suitcase.
