Snowboard Equipment : a snowboard, a pair of boots (even if in separate bag), a helmet.
We recommend that you make an early reservation for the item of sports baggage you wish to take with you. You must register sports baggage up to 24 hours before departure.

Sports baggage can be allowed for in your free baggage allowance provided that the number and weight do not exceed the free baggage specifications for your travel class. However, this does not apply if you are travelling on the Economy Class Light fare.
If it exceeds the free baggage allowance, the below charges apply:

Domestic routes (Germany) - EUR 70 / USD 80
Routes within Europe - EUR 80 / USD 92
Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia - EUR 100 / USD 115
Short intercontinental routes - EUR 150 / USD 172
Medium intercontinental routes - EUR 200 / USD 230 / CAD 300
Long intercontinental routes - EUR 250 / USD 287 / CAD 375
Routes to/from Japan - EUR 100 / USD 150
If it exceeds the maximum weight of 32 kg then the charges for cargo transport apply.
In addition to your free baggage allowance, you may carry one set of snowboarding equipment free of charge on your Lufthansa flight with the exception of flights to/from the USA, Mexico and Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama). You will be charged the price stated above for any additional snowboarding equipment.
If you are travelling on the Economy Class Light fare, free transport of snowboarding equipment instead of a booked item of baggage or in addition to a booked item of baggage is not included and the charges listed above will apply.
The weight of ski or snowboarding equipment must be within the weight restrictions for the respective travel class.
