Virgin Atlantic accepts your ski equipment as part of your free checked baggage allowance, in place of a regular suitcase, as long as your ski bag weighs less than 23 kg / 50 lbs. Otherwise, an overweight baggage fee will be charged.
If your ski bag is in addition to the maximum number of free checked bags, you will be charged the standard Extra Bag fee, as if you were bringing an additional suitcase. [AMZ asins='B083176696,B074F945NM,B08512DLZK,B07X3MMRLX']
Here’s what you can bring:
Skiing/waterskiing:
One pair of skis (or water skis).
Ski boots
Poles
A mask or helmet.
If you’re the talented type that can both ski and snowboard, Virgin Atlantic will not accept both skis and snowboards as part of your free baggage allowance – it’s one or the other.
