SAS Scandinavian Airlines Kiteboard Fees

Kitesurf Equipment is accepted on most SAS Airlines flights.

Kitesurfing equipment must be packed properly and is considered one piece of checked baggage. If it fits within the baggage allowance, you don’t need to pay anything extra. If it doesn’t, you will need to buy extra baggage. In this case, it is best to pay for it online as early as possible, as prices go up the closer you get your departure date. You don’t need to register your kitesurfing gear ahead of time as long as it is less than 200 cm long. Kitesurf bags longer than 200 cm are classified as windsurfing boards and must be registered in advance.

Kitesurfing equipment is not permitted onboard smaller aircraft types AR8 / AT7 / CRK / CR9 / DH4.

Your kite bag is limited in weight to 23 kg / 50 lbs. If your kitesurfing bag weighs more, you will have to pay an overweight baggage fee, as outlined above. The overweight baggage fee depends on the origin/destination of your flight, and the weight of the bag. The maximum weight allowed is 32 kg / 70 lbs, otherwise you will have to repack into 2 bags.
