To be accepted for carriage, they must be protected in a PVC cylinder with screw ends, which can be obtained from a local fishing store, or in PVC plumbing or electrical tubing. Fishing rods must not be strapped to suitcases.
Sporting equipment can be included as part of your checked baggage allowance, subject to the sporting equipment requirements. Charges will apply for any baggage carried in addition to the free allowance. You may purchase an Additional Baggage Allowance in advance to save on airport excess baggage rates.
