Avelo Airlines Bike Fees and Policies

Avelo Airlines accepts a bicycle as a piece of standard checked baggage. The regular checked baggage fee applies, as well as any applicable oversize ($100) and overweight ($100) fees. You will most likely incur both fees for your bike, so it will cost you $200 + the standard checked baggage fee ($40-45 online during booking, $60 adding to your reservation later, or $65 at the airport). Please note these increased fees that are applicable in 2023.

Bicycles (defined as non-motorized and having a single seat) properly packed in a hard-sided bicycle box that fall within the dimensions and weight limits established for normal checked bags (weighing up to 50 lbs. Pedals and handlebars must be removed and packaged in protective materials so as not to be damaged by or cause damage to other baggage. Bicycles packaged in cardboard or soft-sided cases will be accepted subject to a limited release of liability, as outlined in Avelo's Baggage limitations of liability.
