Turkish Airlines Windsurfing Fees and Policies

Windsurfing Equipment is accepted on Turkish Airlines. A special sports equipment fee applies for windsurfing equipment on all international flights (prices shown below), and a fee of 209 TRY (approx. $10 USD / 10 EUR) applies on domestic flights within Turkey.

You must make a reservation for your windsurfing equipment before your flight by contacting Turkish Airlines reservations and adding a note about your windsurfing gear to your booking.

The following special sports equipment fees will apply for your windsurf gear on international flights:

America/South America/South Africa/CIS/Far East/Interline* - EUR 60
Europe/North Africa/Middle East - EUR 30
Africa/Asia - EUR 50

For carriage with points of destination and arrival outside of Turkey, one-way charges for flights departing Turkey or Ercan are totalled and applied.

Example: Carriage of a piece of sports equipment in journey Chicago-Istanbul-Tunis (CHI-IST-TUN / One way) is charged as follows: Chicago-Istanbul: 60 Euro + Istanbul-Tunis: 30 Euro, total payable: 90 Euro.

NOTE: Windsurfing Equipment Flies Free on Certain Routes
Turkish Airlines sometimes runs special promotions for sports equipment to certain destinations, allowing it to fly for free. Currently, 1 set of windsurfing equipment flies free to/from Cebu and Manila. This offer is valid until December 31 2023.
