Edelweiss Air Ski Bag Fees

Edelweiss Air flies your skis free of charge in addition to your free checked baggage allowance.

Even though your ski bag flies for free, you still have to register your skis by adding them to your flight reservation at least 4 days before departure. You can do so via the Edelweiss Air website. [AMZ asins='B083176696,B074F945NM,B08512DLZK,B07X3MMRLX']

Ski bags fly for free as long as they weigh less than 23 kg / 50 lbs. The maximum allowed length is 200 cm. Only 1 piece of sports equipment is accepted free of charge - extra items you will have to pay the standard extra bag fee for your flight.

Edelweiss Air does allow you to pack your ski boots in a separate boot bag away from your skis, and will accept it together with your ski bag at check-in as a single set of ski equipment. There must be no additional clothing or other items in the boot bag.

If your ski bag (total weight together with boot bag) weighs more than 23 kg / 50 lbs, up to a maximum of 32 kg / 70 lbs, you can still fly with it on Edelweiss, but you will have to pay the "Category Big" sports equipment fee, as follows:

Flights to/from Europe:
Category Normal (up to 23 kg): CHF 0.-
Category Big (up to 32 kg): CHF 149.-

Flights to/from North Africa and Jordan:
Category Normal (up to 23 kg): CHF 0.-
Category Big (up to 32 kg): CHF 201.-

Flights to/from Short-haul intercontinental destinations:
Category Normal (up to 23 kg): CHF 0.-
Category Big (up to 32 kg): CHF 287.-

Flights to/from Medium-haul intercontinental destinations:
Category Normal (up to 23 kg): CHF 0.-
Category Big (up to 32 kg): CHF 368.-

Flights to/from Long-haul intercontinental destinations:
Category Normal (up to 23 kg): CHF 0.-
Category Big (up to 32 kg): CHF 460.-
