Westjet will accept a river kayak to be checked in as a piece of luggage

Maximum dimension accepted: 300 cm x 45 cm x 76 cm (length x width x height) or 9'8" x 1'5" x 2'5".
Sea kayaks are not accepted as their size exceeds Westjet allowances.
All applicable oversized, overweight and extra piece fees apply. Oversize and Overweight fees are about $100 each, and both will be charged if applicable, in addition to the standard checked baggage fee.
