Delta Airlines allows Fishing poles up to 115 linear inches (length + width + height) (292 cm) as checked baggage as long as they are contained safely.

The oversize fee for fishing poles is waived as long as the item weighs less than 50 lbs / 23 kg. Stanard checked baggage fees still apply.

Please note that Delta will charge standard oversized baggage fees for fishing equipment if it exceeds the weight limit of 50 lbs / 23 kg. Fishing equipment weighing over 50 lbs. will be charged the applicable excess weight fee.
