We consider a carton bicycle box as the only suitable packing. A bike packed in other material than a box (e.g. plastic cover) must be tagged with a limited release tag. Mark on the limited release tag "unsuitably packed".
Charges:
A Bike will always be excess baggage on all KQ flights and excess charges shall apply as below where weight concept applies.
In non USD countries, the rates shall be converted in Euros or in local currency at the existing exchange rate.
Under the piece concept, a bike in a bike box is considered 1 piece of 158 cm regardless the actual size. The excess rate of 1 piece is applicable. See Excess baggage for piece charges.
Exemptions:
Flying Blue Platinum Elite members: One bike up to 20kg is free of charge on all flights operating by KQ
