Musical Instruments as Carry-On with GOL Airlines
If the musical instrument is small, it may be transported as carry-on baggage, provided it does not weigh more than 10 kg (22 lbs) weight limit – and it must be no larger than the following dimensions: 25 x 40 x 55 cm, or 10 x 16 x 22 inches (width x length x height).

Purchasing a Seat for your Instrument on GOL Airlines
You may purchase an additional seat to transport large instruments such as cellos.
- Extra seats will be charged according to the fares available at the time the reservation is made.
- There is no boarding fee for the additional seat.
- To purchase an extra seat, please call 0300 115 2121 (from within Brazil) or +55 (11) 5504-4410 (from abroad).
- Reservations may not be made via the GOL website.
- Purchasing an extra seat does not allow you to check more bags.
Instruments as Checked Baggage
Instruments may be checked in as regular baggage. All standard baggage fees, including applicable excess, oversize and overweight fees may apply. It is important to safely pack the instruments in a rigid case for transport as checked baggage. GOL will not be liable for any damage caused to any instrument or equipment during transport.
