Flying with Musical Instruments as Carry-On with Frontier Airlines
Musical instruments such as guitars, violins, cymbals, etc. A musical item may exceed the carry-on baggage dimensions as long as it fits into the overhead bin. You will be charged the regular carry-on baggage fee that is usually charged by Frontier Airlines.

NOTE: Frontier Airlines will not remove passenger baggage to make room nor will we provide special boarding. The musical instrument must fit into available space at the time of boarding; otherwise, the item will be gate checked and delivered to the jetbridge at the next stop.
Purchasing a Seat for Musical Instruments on Frontier Airlines
Large musical instruments such as cellos, which will not fit into the overhead bin may only be carried on board the aircraft if a seat is purchased. Refer to Rule 215 in the Contract of Carriage — Cabin Seat Baggage for more information. Items that exceed 100 pounds will not be accepted. The full fare for the ticket for the applicable seat is paid. There is no carry-on baggage allowance or baggage allowance for that ticket. If the Cabin-Seat Baggage must be accommodated into a STRETCH seat due to its size or at the passenger's request, the STRETCH seat fee applies.
Bringing a Musical Instrument as Checked Luggage on Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines accepts musical instruments as checked luggage, but it is simply considered a standard piece of luggage. All standard checked baggage, oversize luggage, and overweight baggage fees will apply. Be sure to check the updated 2023 Frontier Airlines checked luggage fees that will apply.
